The wind tunnel is a building aerodynamic wind tunnel of the Eiffel type (free jet channel). Six blowers force air into a pre-chamber, which is accelerated in the adjoining nozzle. A boundary layer corresponding to that at the original location is generated (Counihan method) with the installations trip bar, vortex generator and roughness section. An accurate boundary layer modeling requires that the gust spectrum, the governing integral length measures and the height dependence of the wind speed and the turbulence intensity are represented as at the original site.
