Other Climatic Actions

At the Center for Wind and Earthquake Engineering, random load processes and their effects on structures are investigated. This also includes natural climatic actions (in addition to the wind), such as snow, icing, heavy rain or temperature. As part of expert assessments, for specific specific sites, we determine relevant load recommendations for structural planning based on meteorological data and statistical methods. In addition to the individual effects, combined load effects (e.g. wind and snow or wind and icing) are also examined in terms of the statistically relevant combination.

In the past few years, the CWE has prepared more than 50 such site reports, in particular for the area of mast constructions and large structures (mega factories).
