STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING OF INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES
By taking a summer course in Europe students can lay a foundation today for their future career. In a world that has grown ever smaller in the wake of globalisation, international experience is needed more than ever. By studying abroad students will develop their communication skills and team spirit. Gaining experience in Europe will make them expand their horizons and open up their mind academically and culturally to meet the challenges of todays world.
The core focus of this summer school is the analysis and design of industrial facilities in regard to exceptional and dynamic loads. During the conceptual design process of industrial structures and components, these dynamic loads give rise to problems that challenge the collaboration between mechanical and civil engineering. These two weeks give you an insight not only into technical but also socioeconomic aspects of today´s interconnected industrial world.
The „Center for Wind and Earthquake Engineering“ (CWE) combines and guides the interdisciplinary teaching and research activities at the RWTH Aachen University in the fields of wind and earthquake engineering. As a result of this collaborative effort, the CWE offers excellent and longstanding expertise in structural dynamics and runs comprehensive, efficient and highly specialised testing facilities.
The program was jointly developed by the Chair of Structural Analysis and Dynamics (RWTH-CSAD), the RWTH International Academy (RWTH-IA), the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) and the Institute for Research in Environment, Civil Engineering and Energy (IECE). Funded by German federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
